Free Motion Embroidery Workshop and Discussion - with Maker-in-Residence Kadri Vahar
Join our current Maker-in-Residence Kadri Vahar in exploring the narratives of thread, textile and costume design.
Kadri is a costume designer from the Estonian Academy of Arts, who has in recent years worked in movies, TV shows and theatre, for characters and looks. She is particularly inspired by people and stories and how that can be embedded in garments using techniques in fashion design. She has dedicated her residency to exploring free motion embroidery techniques and using Maltese spaces, culture and stories to inspire her designs.
During this event Kadri will discuss her creative process and the stories she has drawn inspiration from, and do a demonstration and workshop about free motion embroidery.
Location: Makerspace B
