This workshop introduces modular construction techniques through hands-on plaster casting. Working with prefabricated 3D printed moulds, participants will cast multiple plaster elements featuring different surface patterns. The resulting components are designed to interlock, enabling construction of small-scale defensive wall structures — bastions that demonstrate principles of modular design and pattern variation.
The session covers mould assembly, plaster mixing ratios, casting procedures, demoulding techniques, and structural assembly. Participants select their preferred surface patterns and leave with functional knowledge of casting processes and a set of assembled plaster blocks. Suitable for those interested in fabrication techniques, architectural modelling, or material experimentation. No prior experience required.
