Studio Session – Basics of Leathercraft and Vegetable-tanned Leather with Artisans Pai and Ye of the Leather Trove

Join leather craftsman Pai for an exciting workshop introducing the fundamentals of veg-tanned leather—its origins, qualities, and the unique way it develops patina through use. Pai will teach participants to use a cutting die to cut the leather and learn how to burnish the edges. Participants will take the piece home, observe, and interact with. This simple object offers an engaging way to understand how leather behaves, softens, and responds to touch.
